They warned us! It started thursday morning and ended today (for us)... thank goodness Jeff went to the grocery store on Wednesday! I always think... Oh it will pass or We wont get as much as they think or it wont be as bad as they say!!! They got me this time!!! I wont forget this blizzard for years! (That makes me sound so old!) Anyway, as most of you know and dealt with the weather yourselves this weekend... we got the worst storm in 30 years in our parts and we were stranded in our own home for 3.5 days! At one point, we didnt have power for 4 hours and no running water for about an hour... and that was in the morning, so I consider us lucky... we had daylight to see by and bottled water in the garage! Jeff managed to unbury the house and lane but the plows could not get to us and we found out why on Saturday... Jeff finally took his 4 wheeler and found some huge drifts (10-15 ft) that were stretched out across Emmett Ave. We finally talked to the neighbors and they told us that we should stay put and that people were getting stuck trying to get through the drifts... even the maintainer and plows! We decided to go and check the drifts out, knowing that we would have to turn around and come back, and it was pretty amazing... you will see as you check out our blog!! We finally got our roads plowed today at noon and we felt relieved!! The only things we really were out of were beer and toilet paper(almost) !!!
